Jeff uses his legal and engineering background to assist companies to develop and manage their Intellectual Property assets. He has over eight years of engineering experience developing software and hardware in the defense, medical, and wireless communication industries, and over five years of experience prosecuting high-tech patents.
Jeff’s practice focuses on the drafting and prosecution of United States and foreign patent applications with an emphasis on electronics and software-related inventions. He has drafted and prosecuted applications directed to a wide variety of subject matter, including wireless communications systems, power generation systems, electronic storage devices, graphics processors, medical devices, and non-lethal ballistics. Jeff has also assisted clients in analyzing patent portfolios for possible acquisition, has assisted clients in enforcing their patents against infringers, and has developed infringement and invalidity positions in support of patent litigation.
Prior to joining Hunter Clark, Jeff was a patent prosecution associate with the Intellectual Property Group at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves, and Savitch in San Diego, and a patent prosecution associated with Townsend and Townsend and Crew in Palo Alto and San Diego where he was involved in all stages of the patent prosecution process.
Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Delaware and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
